Nelson Mandela, a former president of south Africa & Nobel Peace Prize Winner, revolutionary leader who spent more than seven decades of his life in the struggle against white minority rule for free and democratic non-racial society. July 18, 1918 in South Africa Nelson Mandela was born in a poor family.

1.       Nelson Mandela real name was Rolihlahla Dalibhuna Mandela.

2.       Nelson Mandela was born in South Africa on 18, 1918.

3.       Nelson Mandela was just 12 years old when his father passed away.

4.       Nelson Mandela was first member of his family to attend school since his father had four wives who all lived in different villages.

5.       “Nelson" name was given to him by teacher on his first day of school in the 1920s. Through that time in South Africa, African children were given English names thus colonial masters could pronounce them easily.

6.       Nelson Mandela was expelled from Fort Hare Missionary College for organizing a strike against the white rule of the college.
